About the Recipe

I love soup! I love cooked cabbage! I love EASY food! Not only that, but it also doesn't take all that long to make on the fly! This is a complete meal and can be served with crackers, bread, or nothing! I love This meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage (any ground meat, but we LOVE sausage!)

  • 2 c carrots, chopped

  • 1 onion, minced

  • 1 tbsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp italian seasoning

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)

  • 5 c cabbage, shredded

  • 1 c sweet corn

  • 6 c broth*

  • 1 c chopped frozen spinach (optional)


    NOTES Broth- You can use plain water for broth and beef, chicken, or vegetable bullion cubes. The number of bullion cubes vary per brand. Some are a 1:1 ratio, others are a 1:2 ratio, and some bullion is powder and measured by the tsp. Read the package directions!


Preparation

Step 1

Set the instant pot to SAUTE mode to brown sausage. Next add onion, carrots, and garlic (if using cloves).


Step 2

Add and combine all other ingredients (except spinach) and set the instant pot to SOUP function for 20 minutes.


Step 3

After 20 minutes, turn the pressure valve to "instant release"


~~If you wanna be "EXTRA" now is the time to stir in about a cup of chopped frozen spinach for a leafy green "sneak attack!"
