About the Recipe
Never say "Never," in the allergen-free world. With a few adaptations, I was able to make a meatloaf, just as tasty and without the headache of a bunch of crazy, unheard-of ingredients! You don't have to over complicate substitutions or the process! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Ingredients
Meatloaf
1 lb ground beef (ground turkey, deer, or bear also work great!)
1/2 onion
1 egg*
1 c old fashioned oats
1 tsp italian seasoning
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/3 c ketchup
Topping
1/3 c ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
*Substitutions:
Egg- for Egg Free try substitution 1tbsp of milled flax or 1tbsp cornstarch with 3 tbsp water and let sit until its gels and then mix in.
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375.
If egg substitution is needed, mix and set aside.
Step 2
In a food processor, mix all other dry ingredients until oats are desired "breadcrumb" texture.
Step 3
In a bowl, mix all ingredients together until well combined. Shape into a loaf onto a greased baking sheet. and bake for 45 mins.
Step 4
Make Topping by mixing 1/3 cup ketchup and 2 tbsp brown sugar.
Step 5
After meatloaf has baked for 45 min, remove from oven, spread topping, and put back in the oven for 10 mins.
Step 6
Remove from oven and let stand for 10 mins before serving.
